Shannon's Story

Horses Have been Shannon’s life line for as long as she can remember. She started riding at 5 after BEGGING her dad for lessons. At 9 she started working off her lessons and for extra horse time. She has never been able to get enough of them. She could never pick a discipline proclaiming "I love horses… the saddle I use and what I am doing matters very little to me” Its always been about the bond for her.

It would make sense then that she went to college for “horses”. She attended The university of Monatana Western and left with a bachelors degree in Natural horsemanship and business. During college she gained valuable knowledge through being both a large and small animal vet tech at a local practice near her. After college she got pregnant with her two amazing kids and took a small break from horses. Moving to different places like the back country of Montana and the island of Kauai Hawaii gave her life long self assurance and a resilience so needed in the current horse world.

While in Kauai she started working with horses again and remembered her true passion. Coming home to Vermont found her back in the horse industry training a few local horses. She soon realized that all the work she had done on herself (without horses) of becoming a certified yoga instructor, water fasting and chanting in an ashram in Texas for a week along with countless meetings with her water priestess mentor Dakota made working with horses simpler than it had ever been.

It showed her how much our own inner work really gets reflected back when we work with these beautiful creatures.

While working with her current horse Safari she realized that his body was in some pain. She then become certified in Equine Bodywork and started her own business Shannons Horse Solutions LLC. She loves doing bodywork and training with correct biomechanics for horse and rider to make the experience for both horse and human enjoyable and something to look forward to.

She most recently moved to Reddick FL with her husband, two kids, 2 dogs, cat, 4 horses, 1 donkey and a tortuous.
